A: For starters, the radiation you'll receive is negliable. The nuclear industry pays you to be safe. It provides the correct tools for the job. All sites require you to wear all applicable safty equipment.

Q: Is it hard to get into a plant without knowing someone?

A: No, this site will help you with all the contact numbers you need. As long as you call a few months before the outage, you have a good chance to get in.

Q: How can you survive the summer?

A: Some states unemployment can get past $600/week, close to $900 depending on your number of dependants.
